You're my Coyote

You’re everywhere
-my coyote
please scavenge through me
I’ll be your night lark
still searching
cast out of the air
and as you move through the waving grass
next to discarded pavement
I’ll follow you
The hunger takes over

my breath is escaping
the cocoon is breaking
the glow is spilling
all over you

We search the ground
for scraps and wires
to lift us up again
and under the electric line’s hum
we’re coming undone
yes, I've come undone
